Gift with purchase

Can you believe it is already July?

This year is just flying by.  We have some great new collaborators to work with and we are gearing up for another Kiwi & Ellie Style challenge.  It was originally scheduled for July but we need a bit more time to prepare.

So, we decided it would be fun to make every order even better…

Nothing delights us more than getting a “gift with purchase.” So we are giving YOU a gift with purchase in July.

These gorgeous beaded tassel earrings are yours with any order $25 or more.  The retail value is $19.99. This bonus is only available while supplies last.

You don’t need a special code.  You will receive a confirmation that your gift with purchase has been added to your order within 24 hours.

All of us at Kiwi & Ellie want to thank you, our amazing customers, for your support of small businesses and for all the “shout-outs” you give us on social media.

Would you like to be one of our collaborators? Donna, our Director of Marketing, plays a big roll in our collaboration program.  You can even earn 20% on each sale generated by your social media posts in the form of Kiwi Kash.  If you have any questions, feel free to email Donna or Ann.

Have a safe and blessed evening.

Brand Rep Search & Private Sale

Hello ladies,

We are always on the lookout for brand reps.  In fact, there is a page on our site that explains how our program works.  Click here if you are interested.

We have a wonderful group of insta friends that help shape our business in so many ways. They are consulted as new products are considered.  Their feedback is so valued.  These are the influencers of our collections.

Have you seen the latest addition to our line?  The Whimsy Collection is a huge hit. These wearable works of art are selling faster than we can make them.  We also take requests for color/themes of cuff bracelets.  Drop us an email to request a special order Whimsy cuff bracelet. Or, you can always send a DM on instagram @KiwiAndEllie

These are so fun to wear.  They make a statement. Similar styles are sold through Anthropolgie for well over $200.  We charge just $39.95 each. Plus remember we are offering free shipping all month.

Thank you to all who took advantage of the 30% off all earrings sale today.  This was for our subscribers only.  Here’s a new exclusive sale for “insiders.”

Save 30% off all bracelets through Monday night with code MON30.

We would love your feedback on anything from how user friendly is our site to suggestions for jewelry you’d like us to offer.  Plus, we love your posts on social media.  It is great to see we have such wonderful customers.

Reminder: July is Style Challenge Month.  Our previous style challenge was so popular in March that we are bringing it back.  The same rules will apply.  We use the hashtag #KiwiAndEllieStyleChallenge. You can get a sneak peak at some of the outfits here.

Thank you for sharing your photos

Hi again,

I’m really enjoying doing these posts.  Today I want to thank all my customers and collaborators.  It really is true that after you hit “submit” I do a happy dance when I see your order!

I’m also grateful to all of you who share your images of my jewelry and accessories.  I’m not going to lie.  I am bad at creating magic with photos.  Yes, most of my images are stock. However, since so many of you are sharing, I’m able to one by one replace stock photos with your “Glam” shots.

I would like to share a few with you all to show my true appreciation for the time and effort you spend taking these photos.

Everything looks so much better in real life.  Also, since my prices are lower than anyone else (see my price match guarantee) there really is no reason to shop anywhere else? Am I right?

I would love to see more photos of my jewelry/accessories, so please keep sending them my way!

I’d like to thank my Director of Marketing, Donna, for pretty much posting something from my shop every day!!!  I’d also like to thank my two newest collaborators, Brandi and Lindsay. I may have already mentioned them the other day.

Well, the four of us are having so much fun choosing pieces for my fall line that I just have to say thank you again to you three lovely ladies.  You are really making my life so much easier. Plus, what a great selection arriving for fall.

Donna’s birthday giveaway ends tonight.  The winner will be announced tomorrow. Lindsay and I are doing a giveaway on Monday so be sure you are watching my Instagram feed.

Previewing Fall

Happy Tuesday,

As you may know, fashion and interior designers, along with those who set the tone for clothing and accessories on the Runways, generally follow the Pantone color forecasts. For example, in early 2015 we saw the 2016 color of the year (Green) on runways.  No that reference isn’t a mistake. Fashion houses are well over a year ahead (sometimes two) of what mainstream fashion designers create for the mass market  There is this “gray” area when we have to transition into each new season. We carry the previous color palette into the new season but on a more low-key scale.

Even though we are barely into June, I have to start looking for styles that will work for Fall/Winter 2017/2018.  I enlist the help of my fashion bloggers that are always watching the trends for guidance.  We all look at the thousands and thousands of accessories from which to choose.  I admit, sometimes I over-buy and am left with items that don’t sell. However, there are also times where even though a piece of jewelry does not appeal to me, I take their advice and wow they fly off the shelves!

Tom Ford

Regardless of what you see on the Catwalks in New York, London or Milan, you will not immediately see these colors in fashion or accessories at your local retailer.  It is a trickle-down process.

The Catwalk styles and colors transcend into the High Street fashions which are still quite far from the mainstream.  You may enjoy watching fashion shows but let’s admit we won’t be wearing the likes of those designs. Keep in mind that their lines are really just and expression of each designer who is showcasing their personal taste, taking the “shock and awe approach” to what their models wear. See New York Fashion Week review. Do we really see people walking the streets in our country wearing any of the most outlandish outfits depicted each season?  Of course not.  But we can get inspired and figure out how to interpret these styles into our own everyday wardrobes.

Michael Kors

So, with that said, Pantone green will still hold strong through the end of 2017. You will start to notice geometric shapes in jewelry and bright rich jewel tones in clothing and accessories.  The bigger the better for jewelry and accessories.  This fall we will see rich deep reds and greens. The transition from the green of 2017 to the green of 2018 will be gradual. We will also see “bright” reds and “over the top” jewelry.  Asymmetrical earrings, single earrings, Large pendant necklaces; Basically anything “over the top.” Leopard is still and and zebra will be introduced again after a brief hiatus.  Parrot and other animals as well as  fruit will make its way into mainstream stores as well.

Here’s an excerpt taken from a true trendsetter and forecasting expert:

Resourceful: This palette is made up of complementary blue and orange colors. “This is quite an interesting color combination,” said Eiseman. “It combines warm and cool tones that you just can’t avoid looking at it.”

Verdure: Vegetable colors like Celery are combined with berry-infused purples and eggshell blue, symbolic of health, in this palette.

Playful: Think “Minions.” Bright yellow, lime popsicle, and all other things fun come together for this color scheme. “People need to stop and smile,” said Eiseman.

Discretion: Playful’s alter ego. Subtle hues such as Elderberry and Hawthorne Rose offer a new sense of strength. “Pink has developed more power than ever before,” said Eiseman.

Far-fetched: With warm, earthy hues such as Cornsilk Yellow blending with rosy tones, this palette “reaches out and embraces many different cultures,” said Eiseman.

Intricacy: A palette of neutral metallics (aka, the “new neutrals”) with accents of dramatic Holly Berry Red and yellow Sulfur.

Intensity: This is an eclectic mix of colors that evokes a sense of strength, power and sophistication, all balanced with black and gold.

TECH-nique: Bright turquoise, pink, turquoise and purple colors anchored with Brilliant White and deep turquoise. This palette is all about hues “that seem to shine from within,” said Eiseman.

My personal favorites are the combination of turquoise and sunny yellow, followed closely by the deep reds. We will take our cue from nature. Think reds, yellows and greens from “vegetables.”

I’m actively searching for my fall collection to be release in late July.  I am looking forward to sharing a sneak peek in the coming weeks.

What are your favorite color combinations?  How will you incorporate this new palette into your existing wardrobe?

Tuesday giveaway

Hi all,

I am so excited to be celebrating one of my favorite Instagrammer’s birthday on Tuesday. In honor of this, we have paired up to do a fun giveaway. I asked Donna, aka @GrandLakeStyle , what her two favorite pieces are from my Spring collection and she chose the Candy Pop Bracelet and the Nantasket Pom Pom earrings.  We have done so many great things together over this past year.  I call her my Director of Operations.  She keeps me on task, makes sure everything on my site is correct and she always gives her honest opinion when I show her pieces I am considering selling on my site.

She is a beautiful person inside and out.  Please help me celebrate with her.  Stop by her account and wish her a happy birthday and enter the giveaway!

The giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. You have to be 16 years of age or older.  Since this is and Instagram giveaway, those who have accounts just for entering contests are not eligible.

Here’s the image you see on our feeds.  The giveaway runs through Thursday at midnight CST.  Good luck!

Memorial Day 2017

Happy Memorial Day weekend!
I hope you have some fun things planned. If I were back home on The Cape we’d be barbecuing, eating lobster, corn on the cob and my brother’s famous onion dip and chips. There would probably be some Linguiça too!
We have a huge Portuguese population on the Cape and this is a staple for us. It is pronounced [lĩˈɡwisɐ]) and is a form of smoke cured pork sausage seasoned with garlic and paprika. Gaspar’s is the best brand.  Your grocery store may not carry it but you can special request it.  I used to shop at Publix in Tampa. After requesting a special order for some, it found it’s own place on the shelf.  Must have been because of the “snow bird” from up north who went south for the winter.

Sadly, I am still living in Houston and don’t know anyone so I won’t be firing up the “barbie” this year.  I am really hoping to find a job that will allow me to move back up north or at least to Florida where I have friends. I miss celebrating holidays with my family.

I am also remember my dad’s service to our country this weekend.  He graduated from King’s Point Merchant Marine academy and spent many years in service of.  Later he joined the Navy as an officer and was the navigator on his ship. Back then he used a Sextant to determine where the ship was and where it was going. Many of you will have no idea what that is. He used this tool to find their way by watching the stars.  How cool is that? Here is a link to the definition on Wikipedia in case you’re interested.

Please be safe, have fun and make memories.  Don’t drink and drive. Call an Uber if you have to. There are people, and pets, that are depending on you to be around for many years to come.

One final note… Save 25% off the entire site this weekend by using code MEMORIALDAY2017. Not eligible on previous purchases.  No exclusions.
